About 2pm, emergency services responded to reports a black Mitsubishi Triton, driving east on Redmond-Hay River Road, and a train travelling north, were involved in a collision.
The 29-year-old female passenger of the vehicle sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.
The 39-year-old male driver of the vehicle, and three juvenile passengers sustained minor injuries and were conveyed to hospital for treatment.
