Repairs to the Dee Slip Bridge in the Yarra Ranges National Park are about to start with Ace Infrastructure recently appointed as contractors. The works will restore pedestrian, cyclist and emergency vehicle access along the much-loved O'Shannassy Aqueduct Trail on Wurundjeri Country.
Construction starts on 24 November. The bridge will be reopen to the public in late March 2026.
Due to the construction activity, public access will be restricted along the O'Shannassy Aqueduct Trail between Dee Road to the west in Millgrove and Sussex Street to the east in Warburton. The trail will remain open east of Sussex Steet and west of Dee Road. Access remains for emergency services.
The repairs will keep to the original design of the bridge. They will preserve the bridge's heritage value. They will keep as much of the existing timber as possible.
Ace Infrastructure were appointed after a competitive tender process. This included a careful review of their skills, experience, costs, and how well they fit the project's goals. They have a solid record of completing bridge and construction projects on time, within budget, and with strong attention to safety and the environment.

The repair of the Dee Slip Bridge is part of the Asset Regeneration Program. This is a $24.76 million investment by the Victorian Government to replace or repair assets.
