Reported child approach - Central Coast

Police are investigating a reported child approach on the Central Coast.

About 8pm yesterday (Tuesday 19 January 2021), a 14-year-old teenage girl was walking along Darrin Close, Bateau Bay, when an unknown man has approached her from behind.

Police have been told the man grabbed her and touched her leg before she broke free and ran from the scene.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District have commenced an investigation into the incident.

As police continue their initial inquiries, they are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything or who may have CCTV/dashcam footage from nearby area between 7.30pm and 8.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 19 January) to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
