Resignation Of Dr Cathy Wilkinson

VIC Premier

Dr Cathy Wilkinson has advised me of her intention to step down as Chief Executive Officer of the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

I would like to thank for her meaningful contribution protecting Victoria's environment while serving in this role.

Over the past two years, Cathy has overseen the transformation of the EPA into a modern regulator, by helping shape the strong foundations the Authority needs to stop pollution and protect Victoria's environment.

This includes establishing the Waste Crime Prevention Inspectorate which works with WorkSafe Victoria, Victoria Police, emergency services agencies, local government and other regulators to improve and streamline intelligence sharing, and prevent waste crime in Victoria.

Cathy's leadership also saw the establishment of dedicated programs designed to support local communities, including setting up local offices in the north and west.

In the course of her career, she has made a significant contribution to the sector - and to our state - and I wish her the very best for her future endeavours.

Mr Tim Eaton, currently EPA's Executive Director of Regulatory Standards, Assessments and Permissioning, will act as the Chief Executive Officer while a recruitment process is undertaken.
