Engineers Australia Northern Division President
Engineers Australia has announced the appointment of Richard McAllister as Northern Division President.
With a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Master of Environmental Engineering Science, Mr McAllister has over 27-years’ experience across government, private enterprise, industry, and NGOs; both in Australia and overseas. He has also held numerous statutory board and committee roles across government and professional bodies, including the internationally renowned position of Supervising Scientist from 2013 to 2015.
Mr McAllister has technical expertise in water management (surface and groundwater hydrology), geotechnical engineering and environmental management, and has been involved in devising multidisciplinary solutions to highly complex mining and resources issues.
Engineers Australia General Manager, Northern Division, Keely Quinn said Mr McAllister’s cross-sector experience will be valuable in representing the Northern Territory’s Engineering community.
“Richard’s expertise in communicating complex scientific issues and his extensive leadership experience within the engineering community will help guide the Northern Division as we see increased engineering opportunities in defence, building, infrastructure, and government projects like the Darwin Ship Lift,” said Ms Quinn.
