Roadshow Highlights WA-Indonesian Business Success

Agriculture and Food Minister Jackie Jarvis today toured Atlas Pearls in Bali, accompanied by a delegation from the Indonesia Connect Roadshow.

Atlas Pearls is a Western Australian company, that has had its primary operations based in Denpasar for over 30 years.

The owners shared their business knowledge with the delegation, along with how they have become a part of the local Indonesian community.

Atlas Pearls employs more than 1,000 people, and has seven pearl farms throughout the Indonesian archipelago.

Since 2011, the WA company has run a pearl farm near the coastal village of Penyabangan, in North Bali, where the operation's hatchery is based along with its research and development program.

The luxury pearl business, is one of the world's largest producers of white and silver South Sea pearls.

The Cook Government is currently leading the State's largest overseas investment and trade mission.

The Invest and Trade WA mission, led by Premier Cook, is made up of 130 WA business, industry, media, and Government representatives, providing a platform to promote the State as a recognised and trusted partner in Indonesia.

As stated by Agriculture and Food Minister Jackie Jarvis:

"Atlas Pearls is a fantastic example of business collaboration between Indonesia and WA. Their three-decade long relationship is proof of a great working relationship.

"It is this type of business relationship we are looking to emulate and foster, with Western Australian delegates participating in the Indonesia Connect Roadshow.

"By engaging with the local and regional communities here in Indonesia, Atlas Pearls has been able to become a global retailer and supplier."
