Robbery with violence in Kirwan, QLD

Police are investigating after a man in an electric wheelchair was robbed and assaulted in Kirwan this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 11.45am the 22-year-old man was travelling home from the local shops on Kern Brothers Drive when he was approached by two men riding mountain bikes asking for cigarettes.

When the man refused, one of the riders got off his bike, struck the victim in the jaw and stole his wallet.

Two witnesses chased the man down the street causing him to drop the wallet before the pair rode away.

The victim sustained bruising to his face as a result of the assault.

One of the men is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late teens or early 20s, about 180cm tall with a slim build, brown eyes and a moustache. He was wearing a black Chicago Bulls t-shirt with white shorts and red shoes.

The second man is described as being about the same age with a dark complexion, 180cm tall, black hair and was wearing a black hooded jumper, dark long pants and riding a white mountain bike.
