Rockliff Urged to Oppose Dutton's Free TAFE Cuts

Tas Labor

Only Labor can be trusted to protect Free TAFE.

Free TAFE has been a lifeline for thousands of Tasmanians, but Peter Dutton's $600 billion nuclear power plan is a financial black hole, and we know cuts to essential programs like Free TAFE are on the table to pay for it.

When asked about the future of Free TAFE under a Coalition Government, Liberal candidate for Braddon, Mal Hingston, admitted he doesn't know whether it will be protected from Peter Dutton's cuts.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Rockliff's silence on the issue is deafening.Where does he stand? Will he defend Free TAFE? Or will he let Peter Dutton's cuts put thousands of Tasmanians' futures at risk?

I'm calling on Premier Rockliff to stand up for Tasmania's workers and families and guarantee that Free TAFE remains a part of our state's future because it provides people with the skills they need to find safe, secure, well-paid jobs?
