On behalf of all of the South Australia Police we offer our sincerest condolences to the loved ones of those officers who lost their lives in Queensland yesterday afternoon.

Our thoughts are with the family and colleagues of Constable Matthew Arnold 29 years and Constable Rachel McCrow 26 years at this difficult time. Tragically this is another reminder to all of us of the inherent dangers of police work. The loss of police lives affects all of the law enforcement community.

We also offer our condolences to the family and loved ones of the community member who lost their life whilst innocently attending the scene.

We acknowledge the subsequent efforts of the supporting members of Queensland Police Service to bring the incident at Wieambilla to a conclusion.

The policing community will stand side by side with the loved ones of those courageous officers who lost their lives and those officers injured as a result of this incident offering what comfort we can to those affected by this tragedy.
