Safer Pedestrian Crossings In Brighton

The 5-way intersection connecting New Street, St Andrews Street, Park Street and Well Street in Brighton is a busy intersection located near schools and Cabrini Hospital, situated between the beach and the Church Street activity centre.

To improve safety for all area users, we've installed 5 new pedestrian-priority wombat crossings and completed asphalting, line marking and landscaping works.

The crossing project supports the Bayside's Walking Action Plan (2024-2028), and aligns with Theme 3, Priority 3.4 of the Bayside 2050 Community Vision, and Goals 2 and 3 of the Council Plan. The project was also supported by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), with a funding contribution of $100,000.
