Teachers deserve a government that has their back
I back our educators wholeheartedly in the stand they're taking. They're standing up for their colleagues and a school community, which is more than the Premier or the Education Minister have done.
As a former teacher, I know how hard our educators work for their students. They deserve a government that has their back, not one that puts a target on it.
Instead of apologising, the Premier has tripled down on his conduct, and his Liberal colleagues have joined the pile-on.
Who can blame teachers for not wanting any more photo ops in the meantime?
Jo Palmer hasn't lifted a finger to defend her workforce or publicly support the school community she was once a part of as a student. When staff and families needed her most, she has been nowhere to be seen.
Labor will respect the decision educators have made, and we'll always stand up for them.
The fix is simple: apologise, visit the school, and support the staff and students.
