Safety Bay unit fire

Arson Squad investigators are seeking information relating to a fire at a unit located on Safety Bay Road in Safety Bay on Wednesday, 16 January 2019.

About 1.45am, Police and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and were notified of the fire. The fire caused damage to the living room and a bedroom, with the damage cost estimated at $100,000.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or who has any dash cam footage of the area around the time of the fire, particularly two men wearing hooded tops, who exited a white twin cab ute that was parked in the complex carpark close to the time of the fire.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of an arsonist.
