Salami Fest Relocates to Yoogali Club Oval

The much-loved Festa Del Salsicce e Salami, one of the highlights of Griffith's A Taste of Italy program, will move to a new location in 2026 to cater for growing demand and future expansion.

Hosted by the Italian Museum Committee, the event has outgrown its original home at Griffith Pioneer Park Museum and will now be held at the Yoogali Club Oval on Sunday, 30 August 2026.

Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said Council supported the move and recognised the festival's growing popularity.

"This is an exceptional event that has gone from strength to strength over the years and Council is supportive of the move to a venue that allows the festival to continue growing," Councillor Curran said.

"While we always value events being held at Council facilities, the success of the Salami Festival highlights just how important it has become for our community and visitors alike."

Italian Museum Committee President Rina Mercuri said the event had simply outgrown the space at Griffith Pioneer Park Museum.

"While Pioneer Park Museum has played an important role in the festival's history, every year tickets sell out well in advance and we have a waiting list," Mrs Mercuri said.

"Moving to a larger venue means more people will be able to experience the wonderful atmosphere of the Salami Festival. This year we have already sold out the 1,200 tickets and we hope to continue expanding the event into the future."

The festival will once again feature the popular Best Homemade Salami Competition, proudly supported by Casella Family Brands and Leo Franco Motors, along with an Italian smorgasbord meal prepared by Yoogali Kitchen, local wines, entertainment and dancing throughout the day. The Festa Del Salsicce e Salami will be held from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 30 August 2026. Pre-purchased tickets are required for entry. Funds raised from the event are used for the preservation and improvements of the Italian Museum.
