Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with New Zealand's Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Bede Corry. Administrator Power shared her deep concerns for families recovering from the severe impacts of Tropical Cyclone Gabrielle and other flooding in recent weeks. She commended New Zealand's National Emergency Management Agency and first responders for their initial swift disaster response, and noted the partnership formed upon the arrival of the USAID disaster experts who deployed to provide technical expertise and support the Government of New Zealand-led response to reach communities hit hardest during these unprecedented flooding and landslide events.
