NT Government

The Territory Labor Government is supporting Aboriginal Territorians to further their health care studies with applications now open for the NT Health Aboriginal Scholarship Scheme.

Aboriginal health professionals play a vital role in ensuring health care is more accessible and provided in a culturally appropriate way right across the Territory.

Five scholarships are available, worth up to $5,000 each to assist eligible Aboriginal students undertaking their first year of an undergraduate health degree.

The successful students will receive two $2,500 instalments at the end of each semester, subject to successful completion of four units. Recipients will also have an opportunity to undertake four weeks of vacation employment within NT Health.

There are 19 health occupations eligible for the scholarship, including registered nurse, dental therapist, physiotherapist, social worker, pharmacist, environmental health officer, sonographer and radiographer.

Applications are open until Friday, 17 March 2023.
