The development of a new pavilion at Scott Reserve in High Wycombe will begin shortly, with AE Hoskins awarded the design and construction tender by the City of Kalamunda.
The new facility is being supported by $2 million from the State Government as part of the PlayOn WA: 2030 by 2030 initiative to deliver 2,030 community sport and recreation infrastructure items across WA by the year 2030.
The pavilion will feature modern inclusive changerooms, a kitchen, as well as office and social spaces for the local community and sporting clubs.
The pavilion will be home to the High Wycombe Cricket Club, High Wycombe Junior Football Club and High Wycombe Amateur Football Club.
Investment into this project will help ensure facilities keep pace with the growing community, support active lifestyles and provide inclusive spaces where participants of all ages and abilities can connect, grow and move.
A combined club storage shed will also be provided adjacent to the new facility.
As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:
"The WA Government is proud to be investing record amounts into local sporting infrastructure so that more local families have access to modern facilities in their community.
"This new facility will bring people together and support active, healthier lifestyles through sport.
"Through PlayOn WA we're delivering high quality facilities where people of all ages can discover and pursue their passion for sport and enjoy being healthier together."
As stated by Forrestfield MLA Stephen Price:
"This is a fantastic investment in the future of community sport in High Wycombe.
"The new pavilion at Scott Reserve will give our local clubs the modern, inclusive spaces they deserve.
"This project ensures families, players and volunteers have a welcoming place to come together, participate and stay active."
