Search and rescue, Brisbane River

A search and rescue operation is underway for a 34-year-old man reported missing after falling into the Brisbane River last night.

Matt Jarvis (pictured yesterday) was reported missing around 7.45pm in the vicinity of Lower River Terrace at the bottom of Kangaroo Point cliffs.

He was seen entering the water by friends and disappeared a short time later.

An air, water and land search has commenced.

Matt is described as Caucasian, approximately 170cm tall with a proportionate build, fair complexion with long brown dreadlocks.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any other relevant information is urged to contact police.
