Search underway for missing man at Kingaroy

Police are asking for public assistance to help locate 67-year-old Lee Barker (pictured) missing from Kingaroy since last week, with an extensive land search continuing today, involving police and SES volunteers.

He was last seen leaving a Kent street address around 3pm on Wednesday June 23 in his vehicle, a silver 2011 Hyundai i45 sedan with Queensland registration 464DHO, which was found abandoned later that day near a cornfield on Logan Road, Wooroolin.

Police and family have concerns for his welfare as he has a medical condition which requires medication and can cause disorientation and lack of awareness.

Lee is described as Caucasian in appearance, 178cm tall with a proportionate build and a grey beard with moustache.

Residents in Kingaroy and Wooroolin are asked to check under their houses, in sheds and carports for signs of Lee. Police are urging Lee, or anyone else with information on his whereabouts, to contact them; particularly motorists travelling the Bunya Highway who may have seen Lee or given him a lift.
