Second Arab Multidimensional Poverty Report

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognizes that fighting poverty in all its forms and dimensions is among the greatest global challenges and is indispensable for sustainable development. In the Arab region, poverty reduction has been slow and poverty reduction trends of the last two decades have been reversed.

In this context, ESCWA, LAS, UNICEF, UNDP and OPHI organized a special session within AFSD on the main results and policy recommendations of the second Arab Multidimensional Poverty report.

The session highlighted the latest developments in multidimensional poverty in the region. Poverty experts also reflected on regional experiences.
