Secretary General on official visit to Switzerland

Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić has met the President of Switzerland and other key personalities during an official visit to the country.

During her meeting with Swiss Confederation President Alain Berset, the Secretary General underlined the importance of implementing the conclusions of the Fourth Summit of Heads of State and Government. In this context, she highlighted the significance of Switzerland recently joining the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

In a ceremony with the Secretary General, President Berset signed the instrument of ratification of the Protocol amending the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data (CETS No. 223).

In the meeting with Neuchâtel Cantonal authorities, Marija Pejčinović Burić underlined the relevance of the Intercultural Cities Programme with Damien Cottier, the Chairperson of the Swiss delegation to PACE. A public conference at Neuchâtel University, to mark the 60th anniversary of Switzerland joining the Council of Europe, was also part of the agenda.
