Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Ukrainian Minister of Defence Oleksii Reznikov to discuss the needs of the Ukrainian military to defend its country. Secretary Austin highlighted the recently announced $100 million security assistance package for additional Javelin anti-armor weapons and our ongoing efforts to coordinate security assistance efforts with Allies and partners.
Minister Reznikov shared his assessment of the battlefield and thanked the United States for its continued provision of weapons and other needed material to bolster Ukraine's capacity to defend itself.
The leaders pledged to remain in close contact.
