Secretary Pompeo's Meeting with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of United Arab

Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met today with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. Secretary Pompeo and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed discussed the progress of the UAE's normalization of relations with Israel under the Abraham Accords Declaration and issues of bilateral concern, including security cooperation and countering Iran's malign influence in the region, as well as that of China. The Secretary and the Crown Prince also discussed the need to achieve a political solution that brings peace and stability to the people of Yemen, and they welcomed the Libya ceasefire announcement on October 23, agreeing that all sides should fully support the UN-facilitated Libyan Political Dialogue Forum. Secretary Pompeo also underscored the importance of Gulf unity and discussed ways to continue to work together to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic.
