Senior Constable charged with firearm storage offences

A senior constable from Eastern Region has been charged following an internal investigation.

The 40-year-old male officer has been charged with three counts of fail to store firearms in manner provided, fail to store ammunition in manner provided, three counts of permit an unlicenced person to carry a longarm and fail to notify of a change of address.

The offending allegedly occurred while the officer was off duty on 2 May last year.

He has been summonsed to appear at a magistrates' court at a later date.
