Strike Force Vulcan officers are investigating a series of 25 scrub fires that have occurred across the Fremantle District from early January to March 2022.
The scrub fires have occurred along Stock Road in Yangebup, Lake Coogee, Bibra Lake and Spearwood with the most recent fire occurring on Thursday, 10 March 2022.
About 7.40pm, a fire started on the verge along Shallcross Street and Stock Road in Yangebup. The fire burnt a section of bushland before being extinguished by Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
Strike Force Vulcan officers urge anyone with CCTV, mobile phone or dash-cam vision of these fires, or any suspicious people/vehicles in the area around the above times, to upload the vision direct to them at https://wapf.au.evidence.com/axon/citizen/public/110322103512006
Investigators wish to speak to the rider of an electric scooter with a distinctive blue headlight that was seen in the area around the time of the fire as the rider may be able to assist with their inquiries.
Anyone with information relating to these fires is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au. Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
