Serious Assault Charges At Yanchep

Joondalup Detectives have charged a man following an incident in Yanchep on Sunday, 18 January 2026.
About 12.30pm, it will be alleged the man was driving a red Nissan Navara utility in an erratic manner south along Marmion Avenue. At the intersection of Peony Boulevard, the man is alleged to have confronted the victim - a man aged in his thirties - who had exited his vehicle. The victim was struck several times with a solid metal object, causing serious head injuries.
The man is further alleged to have entered the victim's vehicle and attempted to steal a female passenger's handbag before driving away.
About 9.00pm, police located the Nissan on Marmion Avenue near Romeo Road in Alkimos, where they took the man into custody.
An 18-year-old Jindalee man has been charged with the following offences:
• 1 x Wounding
• 1 x Attempted Stealing
• 1 x Possess a Prohibited Drug
• 2 x Possessed any Drug Paraphernalia in or on which there was a Prohibited Drug or Plant
His bail was refused and he is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on Monday, 19 January 2026.
