Serious Traffic Crash at Fishery Falls: Police Respond

Police are responding to a serious multi-vehicle crash at Fishery Falls today, 19 June.

Emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway around 11.11am following reports a ute travelling south had clipped a minibus travelling north before drifting further and colliding head on with a campervan.

The driver of the ute, a man in his fifties, was airlifted to hospital by the Queensland Government Rescue 510 helicopter with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

An elderly couple travelling in the campervan were transported by road to Cairns Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

No one in the minibus was injured.

The north-bound lane of the highway has reopened, motorists should expect lengthy delays and avoid the area if possible.

Investigations are ongoing.
