The University of Western Australia's Africa Research & Engagement Centre (AfREC) will hold its inaugural Africa Research Showcase this Friday 15 February 2019.
The showcase will highlight the diverse and valuable research being done by the centre's research fellows and postgraduate fellows.
They include Associate Professor Farida Fozdar who will discuss issues in African settlement in Australia, Professor Valerie Verhasselt, who will look at how research into allergy prevention in Western Australia may lead to new strategies for malaria prevention in Uganda while Dr Max Vietri will present his work on socio-political change and the establishment of the oil industry in Mauritania between 2001 and 2011.
