Taking a look at tomorrow's weather map, we can see a large high-pressure system still sitting over central parts of the continent. That system is expected to gradually start shifting eastwards through the day tomorrow. That means morning fogs and frosts for some parts of the country, with a generally sunny and settled day following.
We do have some showers in the south-east of the country and in the far south-west, as a couple of cold fronts pass through. In the north, dry southeasterly winds will continue to generate elevated fire dangers for some areas.
Let's take a state by state look at tomorrow's forecast now, starting with Queensland. Isolated showers about the North Tropical Coast tomorrow, with generally low rainfall totals expected in the gauge. Southeasterly winds may generate some hazardous marine conditions about parts of the north-east coast through tomorrow, so watch out for that one.
We are also likely to see some high fire dangers across parts of the north-west and Gulf Country districts tomorrow. Otherwise generally dry, sunny, unsettled weather across Queensland. For Brisbane, we are expecting a sunny day with a top of 28 degrees.
Looking at New South Wales for tomorrow. A few patchy morning fogs or frosts on and to the west of the ranges. It's likely to be generally a dry, sunny and fairly settled day across the state, but we could see some stronger winds picking up across the southern ranges and Illawarra through the day. A little bit of cloud in the far south-east as well, with a few isolated showers for those south-east alpine areas.
We may also see some strong southerly swells pushing up the central and northern coasts, which could produce some hazardous conditions. For Sydney tomorrow, a mostly sunny day with a top of 26 degrees.
Down in Canberra, partly cloudy with a top of 18 degrees.
In Victoria tomorrow, a partly cloudy day with westerly winds and showers continuing. Now the showers are mainly going to be impacting areas on and to the south of the ranges, particularly focused through South Gippsland where we could see some moderate rainfall totals tomorrow. The westerly winds could turn fresh and gusty at times, particularly through the south.
We are likely to see drier, dry conditions and a little bit more sunshine in the far north-west of the state. For Melbourne, though, we're likely to see a shower or two moving through, with the top of 18 degrees.
For Tasmania tomorrow, showery westerly flow continues. The showers will mainly be focused through the west, more isolated through those eastern areas and likely easing back later in the day. Those westerly winds could tend fresh and gusty at times too.
We're likely to see a little bit of small hail across southern parts of the state, and we could see some snowfall above 7 to 900m. So those more elevated parts of Tasmania. For Hobart tomorrow we're looking at showers starting to ease back later in the day, and a top of 13 degrees.
For South Australia tomorrow, patchy morning fogs across parts of the south. Then partly cloudy conditions through the south with a few isolated showers in the south-east. These will be easing back, clearing up later in the day. Drier and sunnier conditions are expected inland.
For Adelaide tomorrow, partly cloudy conditions with a little bit more sunshine expected through the afternoon. A top of 20 degrees is on the forecast.
For Western Australia tomorrow, dry and sunny weather is expected. Temperatures 6 to 12 degrees above average across the west coast and through the south, so quite warm conditions for this time of year.
We may see a little bit of cloud and some isolated showers developing about the far south-west as the day goes on and a weak cold front brushes through. Dry easterly winds are going to produce some high fire dangers across parts of the north. For Perth tomorrow, we're looking at a sunny day and a top of 26 degrees.
In the Northern Territory tomorrow, partly cloudy skies across the Top End with a few isolated showers about the Top End coasts. Otherwise, dry and sunny conditions across the Territory.
Some stronger winds pushing through those central areas are likely to elevate fire dangers. We could see extreme fire dangers once again for the Barkly North district. For Darwin tomorrow we are looking at a mostly sunny day and a top of 35 degrees.
