Six injured in multi-vehicle crash - Hunter Region

Six people have been injured in a multi-vehicle crash, involving a bus, in the state's Hunter region.

Emergency services were called to the New England Highway at Murulla, about 3.30pm today (Sunday 6 November 2022), after reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

It's believed a car and utility collided, causing a further crash, involving a bus.

Ambulance paramedics treated multiple people at the scene; four men from the bus were taken to Scone Hospital, while another passenger, along with the driver of one car, were airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.

Officers from Hunter Valley Police District remain at the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

New England Highway is expected to remain closed in both directions at Murulla for some time; motorists are urged to avoid the area.
