Six Teens Charged in Southern Suburbs Burglaries

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested six offenders in relation to alleged aggravated burglaries in Carnegie and Brighton.

A 2019 Skoda was stolen in an alleged aggravated burglary on Miller Street, Carnegie, about 4.50am on Thursday, 28 November.

It will be alleged the Skoda was driven to an address in Butler Street, Brighton, about 3am on Friday, 29 November.

There, a group of people allegedly gained entry to the home and stole a 2020 Mercedes wagon which was crashed into a wall before the group split up between the two vehicles and fled the scene.

The allegedly stolen Skoda was located by police a short time later in Brighton and the sole occupant, a teenage boy, was arrested.

Police then located the allegedly stolen Mercedes and arrested five more teenagers in the Chelsea area about 9.40am.

A 15- year-old Kingston boy and 15-year-old Bayside boy from Dingley Village have been charged with aggravated burglary and two counts of theft of motor vehicle.

Three 15-year-old Kingston boys have been charged with theft of motor vehicle;

A 15-year-old Greater Shepparton boy has been charged with two counts of theft of motor vehicle.

All of the teenagers will face a childrens court at a later date.
