Flip stress, kick worries and roll into a day of pure good vibes.

Camden Council's brand-new event, Skate of Mind - Youth Fun Day for Mental Health 2025, is serving up an afternoon of action, music and mindful fun for residents aged between 12 and 25 years old, and their families, on Wednesday 1 October, 1-4pm, at the skate park at Julia Reserve Youth Precinct.

Expect skateboarding workshops, music, icy plunge challenges, basketball with a twist, spray tattoos, creative zones, chill-out spaces and a yummy barbeque - all for FREE - as well as $1,000 worth of prizes to be won!

The event will also tackle important topics like challenges of youth mental health, loneliness and the impact of drugs and alcohol, while showing young people there are healthy, positive and effective pathways to feeling good. By mixing fun, creativity, the great outdoors, physical activity and connection, Council aims to create a safe and inclusive space where young people can connect, build resilience and thrive together.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said the event would shine a spotlight on youth and mental health loneliness.

"We want to increase awareness and break down those negative stigmas out there," she said.

"Skate of Mind is about showing our young people that support is out there and that taking care of your wellbeing can be fun, social and inspiring. Everyone should be aware of what help and support there is available around them, and we are so lucky in Camden to be surrounded by some of the best.

"I'm encouraging all those eligible to join us at this event. Come for the flips and tricks, stay for the laughs and connections - and drop your stress."
