Construction of the Smith Street Build-to-Rent Project in Highgate is underway and will deliver a major boost to social and affordable housing supply close to the City.
Stage 1 of the project, including the demolition of the Stirling Towers and site readiness works, were recently completed and a development manager and builder has been appointed for the next stage.
Stage 2 of the Smith Street project will be delivered by Tetris Capital and PERKINS (WA) Pty Ltd, in partnership with Community Housing Limited.
This will see the former public housing site transformed into new one and two-bedroom social, affordable and specialist disability rental units.
On completion, the 109 completed apartments will be managed by Community Housing Ltd.

The project has received more than $30 million in State Government funding and a $46 million contribution from the Federal Social Housing Accelerator Payment fund.
