A motorcyclist is fighting for life after a collision with a car this morning in Deer Park.
Officers believe the rider was travelling east along Ballarat Road when he collided with a vehicle about 6.45am.
The rider sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported from the scene by paramedics to hospital.
The sole occupant of the vehicle, a female driver, was uninjured.
Major Collision Investigation unit detectives are en route to the scene.
All lanes of Ballarat Road are closed between Westwood Drive and Station Road and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
