Sophie Laguna talks 'Infinite Splendours'

Booklovers are invited to the Robinvale Community Library on 10 May at 2pm to hear award winning Sofie Laguna talk about her much anticipated new novel, 'Infinite Splendours'.

Set in a fictional town in Victoria's Southern Grampians region, 'Sensitive Splendours' handles the sensitive exploration of childhood trauma with compassion and wisdom. This extraordinary novel, rich in colour and character, has received highly regarded reviews.

Sofie Laguna originally studied to be a lawyer, but after deciding law was not for her, moved to Melbourne to train as an actor. Sofie worked for many years as an actor before moving into writing - for both children and adults.

"We are very lucky to have Sofie come and do an author talk for us," Manager Cultural Development and Libraries, Camille Cullinan said.

"This is the first of many author talks we hope to bring to the community.

"We are incredibly grateful to have a brand new space to host these events," Ms Cullinan said.

Sofie's novel 'Eye of the Sheep' - shortlisted for the Stella Prize - won the 2015 Miles Franklin Award.

It has been optioned for both film and theatre. Her novels 'One Foot Wrong' and 'The Choke' have both been nominated for literary prizes.
