South Australia coronovirus update as at 20 May 2021

There has been one new case of COVID-19 today, reported from a medi-hotel. There have been a total of 747 cases notified in South Australia.

Today's case is a woman in her 30s who acquired her infection overseas and has been in a medi-hotel since her arrival.

A man and woman in their 30s both remain in the Royal Adelaide Hospital in stable conditions.

Late yesterday, the TGA confirmed a case of Thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS) following an Astra Zeneca vaccination in SA. The confirmed case is a 53-year-old man, who is in a serious condition in ICU. We have also been made aware of a probable case in an 87-year-old woman who is in a stable condition in hospital.

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Victoria. Anyone who has been in Victoria since Thursday 6 May 2021 should closely monitor for symptoms and get tested as soon as they develop, no matter how mild.
