South Australia coronovirus update as at 3 July 2021

There has been one new case of COVID-19 today. There have been a total of 810 cases notified in South Australia.

Today's case is a male in his 20s who quarantined in South Australia after returning from overseas. He returned negative test results during this quarantine period and has now returned a weak-positive result following his routine day 17 test. While the source of the case is currently deemed as under investigation, it is highly likely to be historical, given this weak positive result and the results of other tests. Further tests are being carried out to confirm this.

Regarding close contacts of cases associated with the Northern Territory's Tanimi mine, we are awaiting test results from two people, while a number of people have travelled on from South Australia. All other close contacts in South Australia have returned negative results.
