Camden Council's Draft Operational Plan, Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan are now on public exhibition, after they were endorsed at this week's Ordinary Meeting.

The $373.1 million draft budget will deliver major new projects while continuing essential maintenance across Camden. Council recently celebrated the reopening of the newly transformed Camden Civic Centre following a $9.9 million upgrade. The facility is now a modern, multi-purpose space designed to meet the needs of a growing community and attract world-class events, performances and exhibitions to the Macarthur region.

Council is also progressing 11 major projects worth $132 million, funded through the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program. This includes the $23.1 million John Street Public Domain Upgrade and Activation project, as well as upgrades to Camden Valley Way and Liz Kernohan Drive to improve traffic flow, safety and connectivity. In fast-growing Leppington, work continues on five major road upgrades, a new Camden Tennis Clubroom and several new and upgraded sporting facilities.

Alongside these major investments, Council continues to deliver essential services and local projects that supports residents day to day. Key initiatives include the $14 million Cut Hill Reserve Sports Field Redevelopment and Stage 1 of The Crest Open Space and Learn to Ride Facility, which will deliver new cycling infrastructure, shared pathways, amenities and landscaped open space as part of a future 40+ hectare recreation destination.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the draft plans set a strong foundation for Camden's future.

"These draft plans outline how we will continue to deliver the infrastructure, services and facilities our community needs, while planning for Camden's future as one of the fastest-growing areas in NSW," she said.

"We're embracing the opportunities that come with growth, backed by significant investment in major projects and essential services, while continuing to protect what makes Camden special - our strong community spirit, rich heritage and natural environment.

"This is about responsible financial management, long-term planning and delivering real outcomes for our residents, ensuring Camden remains a connected, thriving and sustainable place to live, work and visit."
