COVID Cases in SA

There have been 1,479 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 13,921 active cases in South Australia.

There are 177 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 13 people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 97 people are fully vaccinated, 27 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 53 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

    Variants

    Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 9,021 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 0.7% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the tests results returned yesterday, 1,119 PCR tests were positive, while 360 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.1% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 66% of eligible South Australians and 51.6% of South Australians aged 16+.
