COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,168 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 24,324 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm two men in their 60s and a man in his 70s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 148 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including seven people in ICU, and three people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 93 people are fully vaccinated, 50 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and five have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 48% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 11,223 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 17.9% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,210 PCR tests were positive, while 958 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    The latest Commonwealth vaccination data is not available at the time of reporting.
