South Australia Covid update as at 27 April 2022

COVID Cases in SA

There have been 4,856 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 26,486 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm one woman in her 50s, one woman in her 80s, and one woman in her 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 247 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including ten people in ICU, with no people requiring a ventilator.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 93.8% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 11,184 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 56.6% increase on the previous 24 hours.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95.4% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.4% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 71.6% of eligible South Australians and 65.3% of South Australians aged 16+.
