Southern Tasmanian man charged with cocaine trafficking

A 34-year-old man from Southern Tasmania has been arrested and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance yesterday following information received from the public and specific lines of inquiry.

Detective Acting Sergeant Sam Storer said officers from the Southern Drugs and Firearms Squad conducted a targeted operation, intercepted a vehicle of interest and conducted residential searches yesterday resulting in the seizure of approximately 110 grams of cocaine and a small quantity of steroids.

"This quantity of illicit drugs, which could have resulted in 1,100 street deals, has a significant negative impact on our community."

"Tasmania Police, with the support of the community, will continue to proactively target and prosecute those involved in the illicit drug trade."

The man will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 25 September 2023.
