Splash Of Colour For Camden Art Prize

Camden Council is excited to celebrate local and national creativity during the 47th annual Camden Art Prize, running from Friday 22 to Friday 29 May at Camden Civic Centre.

This free celebration of imagination, talent and visual flair provides the perfect opportunity for residents to experience a vibrant array of works that showcase skill, stories and creativity at its finest.

From landscapes and portraits to photography, sculpture and works on paper, the Camden Art Prize brings together a striking selection of contemporary Australian art that is sure to inspire.

The week-long exhibition officially opens on Friday 22 May with a special launch night, followed by viewing opportunities from 9am to 5pm, Saturday 23 to Friday 29 May, giving everyone a chance to explore the creativity on display.

The exhibition will feature an incredible range of artworks from talented artists across Camden and the wider Macarthur region, with select pieces chosen to become part of Camden's own art collection. With works for sale and a vibrant exhibition atmosphere, the Camden Art Prize promises a week where creativity truly runs wild.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the Camden Art Prize is one of the region's standout cultural events.

"This beautiful event continues to amaze and inspire all those who attend," she said.

"Even for those of us whose artistic skills are limited to stick figures, the Camden Art Prize is a reminder of the talent and creativity thriving in our community.

"I encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the art, and perhaps even take a masterpiece home."
