Congratulations to the Picture this…Spring in QPRC photo competition winners!

Merielle Stack won the 5-12 years category, Ted Niven won the 12-18 years category and Brielle Horan won the People's Choice Award.

The winners were announced at the Bungendore Artisan Markets on Saturday 23 September.

Visitors to the markets were able to enjoy all the entries on exhibition and place their votes for the People's Choice Award.

'It was fantastic to see so many entries for budding photographers from across our region, the competition was very close with a number of images,' said the judge, Jerusha McDowell.

'Photography is about more than pictures, it's about revealing things unseen. It's about showing people the world through your eyes, the winning entries were both chosen for their unique perspective, demonstrating creative choices in order to show us something that might otherwise go unseen.'

'In the 5-12 the winner chose this unique vertical perspective and composition. The trees giving us leading lines to the bright blue spring sky.'

'In the 12-18 the winner created a dark atmospheric image offering a unique juxtaposition to the springtime theme and subject. This choice was highly original and the result is a beautiful thought provoking image.'

Congratulations to all the entrants!
