St Ives Mum Wins $1M Weekday Windfall at School Drop-off

The Lott

A St Ives mum has been stopped in her tracks during school drop‑off by a life‑changing phone call confirming she was last night's sole division one Weekday Windfall winner.

The Sydneysider held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4693, drawn Wednesday 22 April 2026. She can look forward to a clean $1 million.

"Wow! That's amazing! Are you serious?" she questioned when speaking to us.

"I've got goosebumps. I'm just dropping the kids to school. I could've never expected this is how the drive would go.

"That's so exciting. My daughter's laughing in the back."

The stunned mum revealed if it wasn't for her son prompting her to answer the call, she would have ignored it entirely.

"It's funny, I only answered because my son said 'Mum, you better get that, they've called twice so it might be important'. It sure was important!" she laughed.

"I don't play every week, but I do always use the same numbers, and I just get a ticket whenever I feel the urge.

"I have been trying to continue this Weekday Windfall ticket because I've had a bit of luck with it. Well, a lot of luck now! I'd get $15 here and there, which is why I stuck with it.

"You've made my day! I feel so blessed. We'll be able to put a deposit down on a house.

"I'm not sure how I'm going to focus now on work today. It's still setting in but I think some celebrations will be at hand this afternoon."

Her winning marked 6-game entry was purchased from St Ives Village Newsagency, Shop 23, St Ives Shopping Village, 166 Mona Vale Road, St Ives.

St Ives Village Newsagency manager Karen Scott said she was thrilled to hear the winning news.

"It's amazing news! We were definitely due for another division one winner," she said.

"Our family has owned the shop for 34 years and we've probably sold about 10 division one winning entries and lots of Lucky Lotteries 1st prize wins too.

"We'll be letting all our customers know the good news and hopefully one of their tickets keeps the winning streak going.

"Congratulations to our winner. We hope you enjoy your win and that it can help make a difference in your life."
