Staff profile – Governance Officer Voleak Sroeung

Meet Wentworth Shire Council’s new Governance Officer Voleak Sroeung.

Born and raised in Cambodia, Voleak left home at age 18 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy and Economics in New York City.

Upon completion of that degree she moved to Sydney and completed a Master of Arts in International Relations at the University of New South Wales in 2019.

Voleak’s professional experience has included time spent working for the United Nations.

As Governance Officer at Council, she is committed to ensuring that Council complies with all of its legal obligations and successfully mitigates risks so that Council can uphold its integrity and continue fulfilling its role of faithfully and effectively serving the needs of the people of Wentworth Shire.

Council continues to recruit personnel to fill the vacancies within the approved structure adopted by Council in February 2020.
