Today, the U.S. Department of State held the first-ever Symposium on Islamist Ideology and Antisemitism. Hosted by the Office of the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, the symposium convened high-level officials from across the interagency-including many from the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, Department of State, Department of Treasury, Department of War, FBI, Intelligence Community, and White House responsible for the arrest of Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi-and other partners. Participants highlighted the transnational threats posed by foreign governments and foreign terrorist organizations using proxy networks, illicit financing, and social media to undermine U.S. national security. The symposium featured keynote remarks from Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun and Dr. Sebastian Gorka as well as briefings from NGOs, think tanks, and research institutions.
