This morning I met the Administrator of the Northern Territory, His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie PSM, to ask him to issue a writ for a by-election in the Division of Arafura, to be held on Saturday 18 March 2023.
All elections offer a choice for Territorians, and for their voices to be heard.
This by-election will occur after the state funeral for the Member for Arafura. The state funeral will occur on 1 March in Darwin, followed by the Member for Arafura being taken home to Pitjarmirra Outstation on Melville Island.
