Construction of the Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium has reached an exciting stage, with structural steel now being installed on site.

The framework for the two-court indoor sports facility is being constructed throughout September, with wall and roof panelling to follow.

Underground services are also nearing completion, with fire tanks to be installed as the next step in bringing the facility to life.

Moretto Building, awarded the $16 million construction tender, is engaging local contractors to deliver the project, supporting jobs and skills in the region.

Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said the steel going up was a visible reminder of future opportunities.

"Watching this framework take shape shows the community what will be possible," Dr Emonson said.

"This stadium will give our young athletes access to professional standard facilities right here in Yarrawonga, opening the door to better training, more competitions, and the chance to bring larger sporting events to our region. It's an investment in our young people and in the future of our community."
