Stolen Vehicle Charges, Redbank Plains

Detectives from the Ipswich Property Crime Team have charged four teenagers following the alleged theft of a vehicle from Ripley on 25 April.

Around 2.20am police were called to Bloomfield Mews following reports a 2006 Holden Calais had been stolen from a unit complex.

Around midnight on 13 June, officers sighted the stolen vehicle in Redbank Plains where it was tracked before a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed.

The vehicle eventually came to a stop on Frawley Drive in Redbank Plains where the four occupants allegedly fled from the scene.

PD Tank was deployed and located three of the alleged offenders hiding in a nearby property, where they were taken into custody.

The fourth offender was taken into custody after being located on an adjacent street.

A 19-year-old Churchill woman and an 18-year-old Walloon man have each been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

They are due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court today, 15 June.

An 18-year-old Inglewood woman has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

She is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on 15 July.

A 16-year-old Booval boy has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possess dangerous drugs and possess utensils.

He is due to appear in the Ipswich Childrens Court today, 15 June.

Operation Yankee Forge is a six-month, district-led, statewide initiative targeting high-harm and high-volume offences, including unlawful use of motor vehicles, unlawful entry and robbery.

The operation will enhance policing activities across Queensland to reduce victim numbers and strengthen community safety.

Police regions, supported by specialist squads, will undertake coordinated disruption activities across the state. Police will target high-harm offenders and work closely with partner agencies to ensure offenders are held accountable. With a strong focus on crime prevention, police will be highly visible as they prevent, disrupt and investigate offending, with particular emphasis on unlawful use, robbery and unlawful entry.

The operation will be locally led and centrally coordinated, leveraging the knowledge and experience of officers who know their communities best.
