Mirrabooka Detectives have charged two men as a result of their ongoing investigation targeting burglary and stealing incidents believed to be linked.
It is alleged during February 2020 the man was involved in the stealing of a Mazda CX5 in early February from a home in Balcatta.
It is further alleged the stolen Mazda was linked to burglary, stealing and reckless driving incidents across the suburbs of Alexander Heights; Balcatta; Dianella; Floreat; Gwelup; Haynes; Karrinyup; Stirling and Tuart Hill.
The 20-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with:-
• Seven counts of Unlawful Possession;
• Three counts of Steal Motor Vehicle;
• Two counts of Possess Drug Paraphernalia;
• One count of Steal Motor Vehicle and Drive Recklessly;
• One count of Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police;
• One count of Driver of Vehicle Fail to Comply with a Direction to Stop (aggravated); and
• One count of Gains Benefit by Fraud.
He is next due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 3 March 2020.
A 17-year-old youth of no fixed address has been charged with:-
• Five counts of Steal Motor Vehicle;
• Five counts of No Authority to Drive;
• One count of Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit;
• One count of Stealing;
• One count Steal Motor Vehicle and Drive Recklessly:
• One count of Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police;
• One count of Trespass;
• One count of Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine); and
• Once count of Possessed Drug Paraphernalia.
He is due to appear before the Perth Children's Court on 20 February 2020.
